ISIS Planning Guerrilla Attacks On India From Pakistan, Bangladesh

The Islamic State (IS) group intends to conduct “guerrilla attacks inside India” from Bangladesh and Pakistan with the aid of local mujaheedin groups and create fear and chaos, as said by the head of the terror group in Bangladesh.

In an interview to the ISIS magazine “Dabiq”, Shaykh Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif, the amir (chief leader) of IS fighters in Bangladesh revealed these plans. “ISIS will use fighters in Bangladesh and Pakistan for “guerrilla attacks inside India”. Hanif also mentions taking help from militant Islamist group in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Wilayat Khurasan, along with local mujahideens to carry out attacks in India.

He further went ahead to reveal his plans regarding toppling Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh (Bangladesh, referred to by the IS as ‘Bengal’). “Bengal is an important region for the Khilafah and the global jihad due to its strategic geographic position. Bengal is located on the eastern side of India, whereas Wilayat Khurasan is located on its western side. Thus, having a strong jihad base in Bengal will facilitate performing guerrilla attacks inside India simultaneously from both sides and facilitate creating a condition of tawahhush (fear and chaos) in India along with the help of the existing local mujahidin there. This would allow IS fighters to enter with a conventional army and completely liberate the region from the mushrikin (disbelievers), after first getting rid of the ‘Pakistani’ and ‘Afghani’ regimes,” Hanif was quoted as saying by Dabiq.

Hanif also claims that their plans include wiping out Hindus and imposing Sharia law in India. He said, “The main target would be Hindus since they are the reason behind the trouble Muslims are facing in India.”

Al-Hanif said the Hindus of Bangladesh had backed India’s RAW intelligence agency against Muslims “since the days of the so-called ‘Bangladesh Liberation War’ in 1971”.

“Thus, we believe Shariah in Bengal won’t be achieved until the local Hindus are targeted in mass numbers and until a state of polarisation is created in the region, dividing between the believers and the disbelievers,” he added.
