The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is one of the top-selling mid-sized sedans in the country. The most popular automobile company was first launched in October, 2014. Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the latest hybrid diesel version of its sedan which is named Ciaz today, i.e., on September 1, 2015 .The company has planned to kick start the new Ciaz SHVS launch event today at 12 PM in India. Bookings are Open

The bookings for the new Maruti Ciaz SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle) are already open and the dealers of Maruti Suzuki has started taking pre-orders for the new sedan at a token amount of Rs 25,000. The new hybrid version of the sedan will be available only in diesel. The new version Ciaz SHVS is the replacement of current diesel version of the model.

What’s New in Ciaz SHVS

• The name of the new sedan is Ciaz SHVS wherein SHVS stands for Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki.
• The new variant, Ciaz SHVS is claimed to be the country’s most fuel efficient car that delivers an impressive mileage of 28.09 kmpl. It shows there is a pretty much improvement over the current diesel model’s ARAI certified mileage of 26.21kmpl. The current petrol model of Ciaz will continue as the same old model.
• The new model will be using the same 1.3-litre turbo-diesel, but it will be paired with a larger capacity battery which comes with integrated starter generator and start-stop technology. It allows the car to provide better mileage.

• The new mild hybrid sedan will be offered in Vdi, Vdi (O), Vdi+, Zdi & Zdi+ variants.

• The new mild hybrid system is incorporated with an ISG (integrated starter generator) that provides engine power assistance using the motor and attains efficient power regeneration.
• The vehicle’s braking system is coupled with ISG. It also aids the engine start-stop technology that automatically stops the engine at a traffic light and start upon releasing the clutch.
• In terms of Safety front, the vehicle mnufacturers will offer driver-side airbags, dual airbags (additionally), Anti-locking braking system (ABS), and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) system.

Except the badge as SHVS, the new variant Ciaz SHVS remains the same as the current model. Maruti Ciaz SHVS is currently the second most selling car in the C-segment after Honda City.
