Meet Prized Hero of Nation, Manoj Kumar Pandey Who Died The Most Glorious Death

Manoj Kumar Pandey, Brave Battler the Nation has Ever Seen
One of the brave combatants the nation has ever seen was, Manoj Kumar Pandey whose story would certainly leave your blood to boil if you are a true Indian. His blazing braveness would leave every Indian to salute him and glorify the motherland with pride. Being born to a small time businessman in Lucknow, Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey also grew up in the city of Nawabs like any other normal kid of his time.
During his childhood, he was fascinated towards boxing initially while unlike many other kids he carried high ambitions seriously within his heart at an early age. He always explored every possible way to serve and deliver his best for the nation. Perhaps his entry to Indian Armed Forces was certainly something like that.
When Manoj Kumar was asked “Why do you want to join the army?” during the SSB interviews prior to his selection in the army his immediate response was “I want to win Param Vir Chakra.” This fearless dare of aspiring soldier of the nation within Manoj Kumar Pandey for the highest honor made him selected to serve in the army and to showcase his gallantry on the field.Manoj was an alumni of the 90th course of the NDA, was commissioned into the 1/11 Gorkha Rifles in June 1997. In Operation Vijay, Capt. Manoj (then lieutenant) was the platoon commander during the advance to Khalubar in the Batalik sector.
During the Kargil war, many Indian soldiers recaptured dozens of peaks while the strategy followed by Manoj Kumar Pandey made him the most audacious of all. In the Kargil Captain Manoj Kumar beat back the war trespassers along with his troop at Batalik Sector. At the time of Kargil War, Jubar top was one of the most concerning emplacement for the Pakistani side while it was out of the question to reach the peak. If there was any way then they had to pass on through treacherous ridge which was a little blotted out from the enemy.
Attacked Enemies Despite of Serving Bullets
Upon finding the Pakistani troops over at Juba top team of Manoj Kumar exhibited their valor to get close the enemy. Commandos of the other side attacked the team after being determined about enemies movements towards them. Brushing off the attack of enemies Manoj Kumar moved on ahead of his team to bear witness them the actual way to attack the enemies.
He marched on and lashed out the enemy bunkers with a full-throated battle cry through a hail of bullets. Before capturing the first bunker, Manoj Kumar sustained bullets on his shoulder and legs. Despite being hurt and bleeding showing off his valor, he led his team capture many other bunkers one after the other. While like we witnessed Dhoni finishing off the match he himself captured the last bunker with a grenade which has evoked to a fatal burst on the head.

“Na Chhodnu” (“Don’t spare them”) were the last words of Param Veer Chakra Manoj Kumar Pandey. As he aspired for the PVC, he was successful to get that unfortunately posthumously. PVC Manoj Kumar’s courageousness inspired many other soldiers of armed forces and played a key role in recapturing Khalubar.
Adoring and remembering his valiance, after his name a gallery in the Kargil War Museum at Drass and the science block at National Defence Academy were named.
