Men’s Right Activists Participated In Mumbai Marathon 2016
On 17th January, the annual Mumbai Marathon was flagged off with different categories such as Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Dream Run, DHL Corporate Champions, Senior Citizens Run, Champions with Disability and the Police Cup at 5 am in the morning at the Worli Dairy. More than 40,000 people have participated in it. India’s best long distance runners competed for the top spot alongside world class athletes in the country’s premier 42.195 km race. Nitendra Singh Rawat, who made his mark at the recently held World Military Games and qualified for the Rio Olympics had lead the pack in the men’s category. Deepak Babu has won in the male category and Monika Raut is the winner of the women category.
Dream run of Mumbai Marathon is organized for giving opportunity to various bodies Corporate, NGO’s , NPO’s , even Government departments etc to promote their ideas. Many NGO’s and organizations participate in the dream run to gather support from the people and create awareness about the cause they are working for. Men’s right activists also made their presence felt this year in big way. One of them got dressed as an ATM with a slogan written ‘Husband is not ATM’. It has gone viral with the other participants in marathon. Many men and women came to get a photo clicked with them.
Along with the marathon participants, even the general public voiced the slogan “Men’s rights are human rights” with MRA’s.
