Micromax, one of the leading smartphone manufacturing firms in India has unveiled a new smartphone under its Canvas series called the Canvas Pulse 4G that comes with support for 4G LTE connectivity. The Indian smartphone makers have launched the new smartphone at an affordable price of Rs. 9, 999. The company has announced that the smartphone will go on sale via Flipkart starting Tuesday, i.e., today. Micromax seems to flood the smartphone market with its continual flow of handsets as an amazing offer for its customers on the upcoming occasion of Christmas.
Earlier this month the company has taken wraps off three new smartphones in its canvas series line up namely Micromax Canvas Fire 4G+, Micromax Canvas Mega and Canvas Mega 4G. Last month, the company has also launched an entry-level handset called Micromax Canvas pace 4G smartphone. Today, Micromax has unveiled another smartphone with a mid-range pricing. Let us take a quick look at the specifications and features of the new Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G in India.
Specifications
Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G+ sports a 5-inch HD display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The handset is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek (MT6753) processor at a clock speed of 1.3GHz which is paired with 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, the smartphone comes with an inbuilt storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The Canvas Pulse 4G runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system out-of-the-box.
The handset comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash while there is a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera also on board. In terms of connectivity, the Canvas Pulse 4G offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The handset is backed by a 2100mAh battery and will be available exclusively in Black colour. The device packs usual sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
The smartphone seems to pack in loads of power and can easily be compared with Lenovo’s Vibe S1 that comes with similar hardware while there is slight variation in the price of both the handsets as the Lenovo Vibe S1 but is priced a bit higher at Rs 15, 999. Surely, you do get a glass and metal construction that looks premium, but for those who just want the hardware, the Canvas Pulse 4G seems to be a clever choice.
Speaking at the launch, Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics Ltd said, “Our latest launch, Canvas Pulse 4G is our premium yet powerful product with Flipkart offering 3GB RAM and octa-core at a never before price reiterating our commitment to democratizing technology for the new age digital natives who want to be connected all the time. Our strategic partnership with Flipkart has helped us consolidate our strong foothold in the value for money segment of the online channel and with this launch, we are aiming to target the premium segment of our target audience.”
Micromax has released a press statement wherein it has confirmed that in strategic partnership with Flipkart on the Micromax Xpress smartphones this year, it marketed over 500,000 units of Xpress devices in a short span of 5 months. The Indian smartphone makers also announced a partnership with Bharti Airtel to render an initial 4G double data offer for a period of 6 months across its entire 4G range of smartphones.
