Mumbai AAP Leader Mayank Gandhi Quits National Executive Citing ‘Losing Interest’ In Politics
AAP leader Mayank Gandh has resigned from National Executive of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Gandhi said his resigned from the party’s National Executive “that he had been losing interest in politics”. Mayank Gandh also served as the party’s head in Maharashtra, before his unit was disbanded by Aam Admi Party.
Mayank Gandh had several public disagreements with party chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and other members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Gandhi accused Kejriwal of deviating from the path of honest politics, and of “using and throwing” party volunteers. The Maharashtra unit of AAP was disbanded following its “reluctance” to act against Gandhi, the organisation’s best known face in Maharashtra, who had said that Kejriwal is “hell bent on destroying” the organisation.
The decision to resign from National Executive was tweeted by Gandhi on Diwali and he also uploaded the open letter.

Through an open letter published in his blogspot on Diwali that he addressed to “Arvind and my other friends”.
“I have been losing interest in politics for some time, and I think that it is unfair to continue to be a member of NE with this mind-set. You are requested to please accept my resignation from the NE with immediate effect. Hope that you will find some capable representatives from Maharashtra.”
It has been a wonderful experience working with many of you from Jan 2011 and being part of the change in this country. I pray and hope that this transformation continues and accelerate in the coming months and years and lead to a resurgent India. Arvind, India has a lot of hopes from you,” he said.
A few days ago Mayank Gandh had tweeted on the action taken against a party worker for putting up a site to address grievances. He also stated earlier that the party has to clean the gutter, but it has “overpowered some of us”.
On his future plans, Gandhi said that he would be getting back to “research, spirituality and quantum physics”.
