This announcement itself is very much boosting to Jawans that they take their spouse when they are newly married. This announcement is made by BSF DG, KK Sharma two days back in a meeting with Jawans.

BSF Raj Frontier IG, B R Meghwal, said, “This very demand has been lingering for quite some time as newly-married jawans are tied up with their duties and have to join soon after the marriage.”

“For this, works are underway to increasing housing facilities for the beneficiary jawans at the barracks and quarters at the BOPs,” Meghwal added.

“Living with the family will certainly increase the efficiency of the soldiers. The sense of alienation, which they feel while being away from their families, would be eliminated. Such jawans will lead tension free life,” Meghwal said.

BSF is now collecting the information regarding this announcement, and are counting the number of rooms and barracks available as of now and how many are required to arrange for the newly married Jawans. Once the list is finalized then the authorities are going to build further barracks and quarters. Also, BSF is planning to provide accommodation to the families who are living near the BOP`s at the nearby villages with at least rented source to give them for a stay.

Meghwal also said that they are planning to build some separate barracks for women security guards at border outposts for the development of the security purpose of the women security guards.
