In India, we have seen the many incidents regarding the huge electricity bill of the consumer irrespective of their power usage and the  income. Here is the another one where a consumer received a  monthly bill not in thousand or lakhs, but in crores.

In Jammu and Kashmir, a middle-class family received an electricity bill of 39 crores. As per the reports Ram Krishan, a resident of Puran Nagar in Talab Tillo area of Jammu city, was shocked when he received a bill of around Rs 39 crore for the month of October.

A family member of Ram Krishan said that “Ours is a middle-class family and even the richest family in the country don’t get such a huge electricity bill for one month.”

The power development department (PDD) official said that “There must have been some error with the software that prepares the consumers’ bill and we will rectify the problem at the earliest.”
