Oscar Awards / 87th Academy Award Winners: Best Visual Effects, Make up, Cinematography, Film Editing: The Academy Awards or The Oscars is an annual American awards ceremony honoring cinematic achievements in the film industry.  87th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored films released in 2014 and took place on Sunday February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST. The 87th Academy Award nominations were announced on 15th January morning in Los Angeles. During the ceremony, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented Oscar Awards in 24 categories.
