However, the image was uploaded on the Internet and it has gone viral. Hence, the viewers and people who saw the picture tagged a new name to the officer as “India’s Arrogant Service”. The IAS officer was identified as Dr. Jagdish Sonkar, a 2013 batch IAS officer from Chhattisgarh.
He visited a government hospital for a routine inspection and interacted with mothers of malnourished children being treated there. While interacting with the patients, Sonkar was caught on camera standing in an arrogant manner. As soon as the picture went viral, the IAS officer started receiving criticism for his uncivil manner of treating and behaving with poor.
Even after receiving fierce criticism, Sonkar showed no remorse for the controversy around his picture. Despite he said, “My action was unintentional and avoidable.” The news took to Chief Minister Raman Singh and he assured that he would instruct the chief secretary to teach him manners.
