Heart-Warming Entertainer Piku Movie Review:

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan who plays the role Bhashkor Banerjee as a father of Piku which is played by Deepika in the movie. Here I make an effort to unfold the relationship between the father and the daughter on the screen. Viewers of Piku movie have been enunciating that it doesn’t seem to be a routine movie while it seems as a video recording of any family with an ageing parent and a single child taking care of him/her bringing forth the true relationships of a parent and child in a typical Indian family. The hasn’t been  a no boring preachy morals and no cinematic aura on the whole Piku movie has been a reality, gently tugging on viewers heartstrings

Piku which has been an Shoojit Sircar’s directorial venture has once again testified that a movie does not have to be a larger than life and imaginary with the current Piku and earlier movies Madras Café (2013) starring John Abraham and Vicky Donor (2012) starring Ayushmann Khurrana. Piku seems to be a familiar story and script while what makes the difference is that  the way it has been narrated beautifully and effectively. Piku movie narration and the best living drama of Amitabh Bachchan makes the movie incredibly hit and attention-getting besides simple story.

Amitabh, Deepika and Irfan Khan Appraised for On-Screen Performance

Endearing screenplay of the Juhi Chaturvedi makes every viewer of the movie to find themselves in the shoes of Deepika who lives with or has lived with ageing parents bearing all childish ways. The main story line of the movie is of a Bengali father Bhashkor (Amitabh) and daughter Piku (Deepika) living in Delhi where the father spends his last days obsessing over his bowel movements being dependent on her daughter while Piku (Deepika) plays a role of multitasking daughter who manages her best at household work, professional career and a active sexual life. Rana Chaudhary (Irrfan) steps into the family drama of father and daughter in an interesting way bearing arrogant, rude and adamant attitude of Piku which later turns out to be a romantic tone between both. Watch the out the movie in your nearby theaters how Raana manages to be an eccentric of Delhi based Bengali family of an arrogant daughter and a ageing father where you would definitely find a new way of real and endearing romance which has been hardly seen in the Bollywood movies so far.

On screen maturity and acting of Deepika Padukone, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and Irfan Khan leaves the viewers of the movie dumb. Piku movie’s all characters are well etched and present a very realistic picture facial expressions and the body language of Irfan Khan, eccentric dialogues between Deepika and Amitabh would glue the eyes of the viewers to the screen. Piku movie doesn’t carry much weight and its ordinariness would have crumbled to stale jokes on digestive systems had it not been for the brilliant narrative and overpowering performances. The movie would compel the viewers to recall and connect with people who has lived with ailing or ageing parent. Perhaps we sense it is the need of the hour where Bollywood needs films of this kind and should aim at producing movies of this kind.
