PM Modi Slammed By Congress Vice President For Avoiding Farmers

Congress party vice president, Rahul Gandhi slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government for avoiding farmers on Friday at Mandya district. Rahul Gandhi aforementioned that the Prime Minister of the nation should spend somewhat worthy time with building blocks of the nation farmers rather than going around the world touring foreign countries.

Rahul Gandhi said, “The central government doesn’t think farmers are important. Whether on the issue of MSP (minimum support price) or compensation for crop loss, the Central government has shown that these things are not a priority” while addressing party supporters and farmers at Mandya district. Official records of Karnataka state that over  56 farmers have committed suicide since April this year in the district of Mandya which is being condemned by supporting organizations of farmers.

Vice president of congress party, Rahul Gandhi said “though states such as Maharashtra has received a substantial relief package for its farmers while Karnataka has been ignored” agitating over Modi-led central government for ignoring the needs of not-BJP ruled states. He further added “The issue is how sensitive the government is toward farmers. When the UPA was in power, Rs 70,000 crore of farm loans were waived off. Farmers were supported. That’s what is lacking in the government” on being asked about suicides committed  by the farmers during their regime.

Prior to addressing the group of farmers and large section of the party men, Rahul Gandhi visited a to the families of deceased farmers and handed them cheques of Rs 1 lakh each. Activists and workers of BJP accused  Rahul Gandhi of playing to gallery over the dead bodies of farmers. Congress VP the Rahul Gandhi was blocked by the protests of BJP workers who held black flag to protest against the leader of the opposition party at Padakanahalli village of Mandya district.

To avoid clashed between to party workers cops arrested BJP party activists who alleged that  two farmers had killed themselves in the village but Rahul visited only one since the other family was a their supporter. A group of farmers without any indulgence of political party staged a protest against the State government in Mandya fall together with Rahul Gandhi’s visit. Farmers association alleged “the crisis in the sugar bowl district had been caused by factories and accused the State government of supporting the powerful sugar factory lobby. Added to this the state government had failed to fulfill poll time promises to safeguard the interests of farmers.”

Recalling the Dadri lynching incident at farmers addressing in Mandya district on Friday, Rahul Gandhi said, “Strategy of making Hindus and Muslims fight with each other is an old strategy of the BJP and the PM. In Dadri, it is now clear that BJP people were involved. In every election, there are polarisation and riots taking place.” He alleged the Modi sarkar is following the old trend of their party polarizing society.

The congress vice president further said, “It is very nice for the PM to make comments, but he also has a history.
