Police Horse ‘Shaktiman’ Dies, Accused BJP MLA Says ‘Cut My Leg If Found Guilty’
This is a bad news for all of us. The entire nation is mourning as the 13-year-old Police horse ‘Shaktiman’ dies on Wednesday. Shaktiman breathed its last breath on Wednesday 5: 30 PM. It was a well-trained horse and part of the Uttarakhand Mounted Police for years. It has been more than a month where Shaktiman was beaten brutally by the BJP protesters.
After the incident took place, the Doctors advised amputating the horse’s leg as it affects the whole body and leads to the death of the horse. Hence, Doctors amputated the leg and put a prosthetic leg where the horse can easily walk.
Fighting for over a month, Shaktiman unfortunately died. Both the Congress and BJP parties blame each other for putting the charge of the incident on each other. Defending himself over the sad demise of the horse, BJP MLA Ganesh Joshi said that he nothing to do with it. “Very sad, I already said that I am not at fault, if found guilty then cut my leg,” he said.
According to the reports, it is said that MLA Joshi from Mussoorie, allegedly attacked and severely injured Shaktiman during a BJP protest against the Harish Rawat government at Dehradun on March 14. Hence, Congress party has taken the MLA as he is responsible for the horse’s death.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Sujrewala said, “Like Modi Ji murdered democracy, a BJP MLA made a fatal attack on Shaktimaan Unfortunate.” Several animal right activists have targeted Joshi for his alleged inhuman act.
Union minister and Animal Rights Activist Maneka Gandhi too sought the arrest of the person responsible for the death of police horse and demanded the animals should no more be part of police forces. “I am deeply saddened by the death of ‘Shaktiman’. It is an extremely unfortunate incident. Horses should no longer be part of our police system,” she said.
