Punjab Court To Confiscate Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s ‘Dera’ As Compensation For Loss In Public Property
It started on Thursday with the announcement of court trial at Punjab’s Pachukula court, now, the whole North-Indian states Punjab and Haryana are in chaos, and all this is because of one self-proclaimed godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
With five back-to-back films and millions of followers throughout the country, Baba has become so popular throughout the country, however, a majority of the fame is centered in the dual states.
The condition has worsened in the states as tens of thousands of people are flooding into the state to protest against the court’s deed. In a bid to maintain peace, the Punjab Government today issued the order to suspend the Mobile internet services in all 2G, 3G, 4G and CDMA formats, all SMS services and all dongle services provided on the Mobile network except Voice Calls in the territorial jurisdiction of the state for the following 72 hours.
Huge securities are deployed in the state that includes, 18 more CRPF companies that reached the spot by the trial day’s evening. A state riot control room will also be set up at the Panchula’s Police Headquarters that is operational 24*7 till the situation gets controllable. To avoid so many people from checking in to the states, the respective governments even blocked the railway lines for the consecutive 72 hours.
Despite all these efforts, it is saddening to hear the turmoil the state has been swept into, with people alarming into the streets in thousands, burning the government’s property, the state has already faced mountains of losses in both lives and money.
As of now, over 30 innocents lost their lives in the spree of violence that unleashed after the verdict went against the godman, nearly 250 are injured. Media persons were attacked and their OB vans were also damaged.
To cover the losses faced by the state, the court assumed to get it recovered from the Dera. The bench will hear the matter further tomorrow, Additional Solicitor General of India Satya Pal Jain said. The full bench comprising acting Chief Justice S Singh Saron, Justice Avneesh Jhingan and Justice Surya Kant was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a Panchkula resident raising law and order concerns as over 1.5 lakh people have reportedly entered the district despite prohibitory orders.
On the same, Satya Pal Jain said, “in case people indulge in causing loss to the properties, the process will be video-graphed and total loss will be recovered from the dera.”
With more than 600 soldiers at the spot, the court addressed that Ram Rahim will be sentenced on Monday and is flown out of Panchkula in a government helicopter, to Rohtak’s Sunaria Jail. It is unfortunate to acknowledge that the capital too couldn’t remain unscathed from the violence in the neighboring state and nine incident of arson was reported in Delhi.
Police said that two buses were torched in northeast Delhi’s Loni Chowk and Jyoti Nagar, allegedly by Dera Sacha Sauda supporters where as two coaches of Rewa Express were set on fire at Anand Vihar railway station. To everyone’s surprise, the incidents of arson came in from various parts of the national capital, including Anand Vihar, Khayala, Jahangirpuri, and Badarpur areas.
Back before the declaration of the verdict, Gurmeet has urged the statesmen to maintain peace and prosperity in the state, which eventually didn’t happen.
