Rahul Gandhi Visited Bisada To Meet The Family Of Lynched Man Akhlaq

Indian National Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi visited Bisada to meet the family of a man who was lynched for allegedly eating beef. Rahul Gandhi and Delhi CM Kejriwal visited the village on the same day with few other leaders. The frustrated villagers protested that no one should enter the village as many of them are visiting since Monday when the incident happened.

Rahul Gandhi With Akhlaq’s Family:

Initially, the locals had also stopped CM Kejriwal not to enter the village. The police were in confusion whether to react or not and they were in the view of simmering tension. After a while, they, however, allowed them to meet the family. Commenting on Rahul Gandhi’s visit, Congress leader RPN Singh said, “I am proud that Rahul Gandhi is there in Dadri. He has raised his voice against such condemnable act.”

As the 50-year-old Akhlaq was killed in front of his house by a group of persons in Bisada village in Greater Noida. As the news has spread to nearby villages, another group of people went to Ooncha in Amirpur which is barely 5 km from Bisada saying that they killed Akhlaq and they have to pay penalty those who involved in the issue.

District Magistrate MP Singh had claimed that the situation was under control and reasoned that the incident should be treated as a “solitary case” and not a communal clash as any other Muslim family was affected. Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha also termed the lynching case as an “unfortunate incident” and added that his officers were in touch with the family.

Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav has announced an exgratia of Rs. 20 lakh to the family. UP police had arrested two man accused in the death case.
