The much awaited weekend of the year 2015 has finally rolled with the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s war epic Bajirao Mastani and Rohit Shetty’s action comedy Dilwale. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starred “Dilwale” arrived in theaters alongside Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s “Bajirao Mastani” on 18th December 2015 and blew the subsequent two days devising their share of figures among frantic energy.

At first, the movie of Shahrukh and Kajol which is an Indian romantic musical action comedy film was lead at box office collections with  a total around the Rs 65 crore mark in its opening weekend. Dilwale had bagged Rs.21 crore and Rs.20.09 crore on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The movie viewed a skyward trend on Sunday, collecting Rs.24 crore and taking its complete weekend collection to an impressive Rs. 65.09 crore. As the movie features youngsters Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon benefitted the movie to earn an additional Rs. 56 crore overseas.

Bajirao Mastani which is a historic romance film had a slow start. However, Bajirao Mastani’s collections have now registered a jump and is doing much better than Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol’s Dilwale. The Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra-starred, managed Rs.12.80 crore on Friday, Rs.15.52 crore on Saturday and Rs.18.45 crore on Sunday. On a total, the movie collected Rs.46.77 crore. The movie has made about Rs. 29.85 crore overseas.

The collections of the both the films had a observed a growth in their collections over the weekend, but Monday collections have come as a surprise as SRK’s undefeated ‘Dilwale’ has been overpowered by the collections of ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Due to the positive talk of Bajirao Mastani the movie has picked up.

Surprisingly, the collections of Dilwale on Monday declined by 50 percent whereas ‘Bajirao Mastani’s collections went down by mere 10 – 15 per cent. The collections of Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale are 10.25 cr and Rs 10.09 Cr respectively.

However, Bajirao Mastani is in the Second position in overall box office collections with Rs. 57.02 Cr and the first is Dilwale with Rs. 75.18 Cr.
