Here Is The Reason Behind Caging of Dr Ambedkar Statues In Tamil Nadu

While the living political figures in India are receiving kudos and applaud worldwide, there are few who even after death fear for their existence. Even after entering the 70th year of Independence, the nation is still finding hard to get rid of the caste-intolerance.

Over the years, there have been incidents where Dalit opponents garlanded Dr Ambedkar’s statue with slippers, provoked violence and riots by cutting the statue’s head off and other similar actions to disturb the harmony.

The man who gave India, its ‘Constitution’ and drafted the content including phrase ‘Social Equality’ is now struggling to survive in the hearts of its citizen.

Touted as India’s second largest economy, Tamil Nadu is the worst affected when it comes to a curse of caste. The city has witnessed the most horrible conduct towards his statues by opponents of Dalits, thus provoking unrest among society. What is even more shocking is that over 70 Dalits had been killed in Tamil Nadu in 2014.
