Richie Benaud, Veteran Australian Cricketer Died at 84
Veteran legendary cricketer and former captain of Australia who is also renowned as a legend, Richie Benaud in cricket commentary passed away today. Richie Benaud is 84 years old is regarded as the voice of cricket passed away on Thursday night in his sleep in Sydney as per the sources of his family. Mr. Richie Benaud was a pioneering leg-spin bowler who played in 63 test matches and 28 test matches as captain before proclaiming his retirement in the year 1964. Mr.Benaud holds a record of never losing a series as a captain and he was one of the successful captains of Australia to lead for three successive Ashes series victories in the 1950s and 1960s.

Post retirement Richie Benaud engaged in pursuing a career in in journalism and broadcasting which later turned him out as a commentator rendering service to the cricket game. Mr. Richie Benaud’s lastly commentated during the Ashe Series played in the year 2005 in England in International cricket. Although Mr. Benaud continued to do commentating in Australia until 2013 for Channel Nine. Last year in the month of the November it was a public note was revealed that he is being treated for skin cancer. Cricket fraternity across the world was left in grief after coming across decease news.

- December 1963: In his 60th Test, the first to 2,000 Test runs & 200 wickets
- Summer 1963: First television commentary for BBC
- February 1964: Final Test against South Africa at Sydney Cricket Ground
- September 2005: Final commentary in England after 42 years
