Rolls-Royce Dawn Launched In India; Prices Start At 6.25 Crore
The British Car Manufacturer Rolls-Royce has announced the launch of the Rolls-Royce Dawn in India on Friday. The Dawn has priced Rs. 6.25 crore (ex-showroom). It is a 2+2 seater soft-top convertible.
The convertible version of the Rolls-Royce Wraith and the Dawn made its public debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Rolls Royce Dawn is the fourth Rolls-Royce model to be introduced in India, after the Phantom, Ghost, and Wraith.
The company’s Asia-Pacific regional director, Paul Harris, said that “the Dawn is the pinnacle luxury good for India. It’s rare, bespoke and hand-crafted to the usual Rolls-Royce hallmark standard. This will be a car for only a select few.”
The Dawn measures 5,285 mm in length, 1,947 mm in width, 1,502 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,112 mm. The highlight of the Dawn is its fabric roof, which takes just 22 seconds to operate and can be opened or closed at speeds up to 50kph.
The Dawn is the first car in the automaker’s line-up to be offered only in the drophead version; there is no hard-top version available at present. It also has a Phantom Drop head-inspired Canadel open-pore veneer on the doors, dashboard and rear deck.
The Dawn is powered by the 6.6-litre twin turbocharged V12 petrol engine that produces a maximum output of 563bhp at 5,250 rpm and a torque of 820Nm. It picks up the speed from 0-100 kph in just 5 seconds. It has an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h.
