Scientists Says ‘Planet Nine’ May Not Exist At All
According to the new study by astronomers at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA), there are some scenarios where there are low probabilities of the existence of the Ninth Planet. This planet is discovered recently this year.
Astronomers from California Institute of Technology found from its recent discoveries that there is a new giant planet which has a mass of about 10 times of Earth in January, can bring the tally of planets to nine again.
The planet Neptune was claimed to be an elliptical orbit 10 times farther from our Sun and Pluto. Till now the existence of ninth planet is always a mystery.
“The evidence points to Planet Nine existing but we can’t explain for certain how it was produced,” said astronomer Gongjie Li.
At a distance of 400 to 1500 astronomical units is the distance that the ninth planet circles the sun. The average astronomical unit is the distance of the Earth from the Sun or 93 million miles. A passing star tugs the planet nine showing the possibility of its existence.
An interloping star is trying to pull out the planet nine from the solar system. Li and Adams say there is only 10 per cent possibility of it to fit in the orbit. Gravitational kicks could boost the planet and can put it finally into the orbit over time.
Li and Adams say there only two possibilities for the ninth planet to existing such as the planet would be the exoplanet which is probably captured from a passing star and floating planet may be captured when it is drifted in the solar system.
