Senior Congress Leader and Former Union Minster Murli Deora Passes Away Due to Cancer

Congress party senior leader and former union minister Murli Deora passed away at the age of 77 during the early hours of Monday 24th, 2014. After prolonged illness due to cancer Mr Murli Deora was hospitalized and was undergoing treatment although his condition was deteriorating since past day and unfortunately breathed in his last breath in the early hours of Monday at around 3.25 am who is survived by his wife and two sons including former MP Milind Deora. People of his region and his beloved associates used to call him as Murli Bhai was close to people and has been in service of people since initial days of his political entry.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi paid his condolences to the death of former union minister and parliamentarian Murli Deora and his family members with all grief and said his warm nature made him popular across party lines. Union Leader Venkaiah Naidu said that the country has lost a veteran Parliamentarian. “I am deeply saddened by the demise of Murli Deora. We have lost a veteran Parliamentarian and an experienced administrator,” the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said.

Top party leaders and politicians cutting across the political spectrum started arriving at the Deora residence to pay their last respects to the high-profile leader. Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh tweeted this morning: “One of the most amiable persons I knew. He had friends across Party Line. We shall forever miss him. Our condolences to the family.” “Murli Deora done great service for Mumbai big loss fir Mumbai & Congress,” BJP leader Kirit Somaiya tweeted.
