298 passengers and crew on the board Boeing 777 were killed. Majority of them are from Dutch and 38 are Australian citizens. The footage also shows pro-Russian rebels at the scene of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash after they realised they had shot down a commercial airliner. “It is sickening to watch and 12 months on from the downing of MH17 it is deeply concerning that this footage has emerged now,” Bishop told.

The new footage was shot by the rebels themselves on a camcorder. The 17-minute long footage smuggled out from the rebels’ own Donetsk base clearly identifies the militia by face. “It is certainly consistent with the intelligence advice that we received 12 months ago, that Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 had been shot down by a surface-to-air missile,” report said. But the footage also shows men holding guns and dressed in army.
