This image picturing the position of the sun taken every Tuesday at the same time of day over a year proves the answer is no. Posted by Unilad yesterday, this picture has gone massively viral since then. Forming a perfect infinity loop, the photo is worth admiring and it sure does look very beautiful.

This is a product of individual images merged together to produce this fantastic caption of the Sun that shows the path it takes as seen from the Earth. The tilt of the earth and its slightly elliptical orbit combine to generate this figure “8” pattern. This pattern is called an analemma. If the Earth were not tilted, and if its orbit around the Sun were perfectly circular, then the Sun would appear in the same place in the sky throughout the year.
