Vijayan, a 65-year-old wayside tea-seller from Ernakulam in Kerala, stand as a perfect example for the saying, “First you jump off the cliff and you build your wings on the way down.” While a million of people around the world give up their passions every day and adapt to themselves according to the circumstances, this couple from Kerala has set a new example of self-confidence and passion. This couple gave up everything to fulfill their passion and travel around the world.

Vijayan, along with his wife Mohana has visited 17 countries (including Britain, Egypt, France, Austria, Switzerland, Malaysia, Singapore, the UAE and many other foreign countries), the last one being their dream destination – America.

The passion to explore new places grew in Vijayan ever since he was 6, constantly accompanied his travel enthusiast father to many devotional and aesthetic places. Vijayan has been selling tea and small food items for 40 years in his tea shop. As soon as he had enough money, he would approach banks for a loan, travel to a new country and repay the loan over two or three years. Saving at least Rs. 300 daily for their travel, travelling being the only luxury they wished for, spending on basic necessities and shopping for just a souvenir from the journey. It wasn’t an easy task for Vijayan and Mohana to go to their final holiday destination. Their wish to visit US seemed improbable considering their financial status.

It was their dream but lacks of people, who don’t even know the couple personally, came forward and supported them to fulfil their dreams. Vijayan and his wife received financial support from across the world and finally travelled to their dream destination — US. Bollywood actor Anupam Kher too came forward and helped the couple to accomplish their dreams.

This documentary by Invisible Wings tells us the story of this couple who works hard to chase their dreams, no matter what the hurdles are.
