Her flight from Birmingham to Dubai with his boyfriend, Moran was supposed to be smooth without interruptions. However, one of the flight attendants overheard the couple talking and Beth was complaining having menstrual pain which she rates as one out of ten in pain. However, she and her boyfriend were instructed to leave the plan as she was declared unfit to fly by the medical team stationed nearby.
The situation was embarrassing for her and was getting more embarrassing with the question asked in front of all other passengers present there. There were no professional personal to refer to about their situation. The doctor was also not present and they were asked to leave.
They booked flight for both was 400 pounds which is approximately 558 dollars. Now, with the situation happening to them, they are forced to book another flight that each cost 250 pounds that will increase the cost to 500 pounds. The price would be 694 approximately in dollars.
The boyfriend voiced his displeasures regarding the situation happening to his girlfriend.
“To be kicked off for period pains, it was madness. Beth was in tears and getting upset when the hostess was asking her questions. It’s embarrassing to have to explain about period pains when it’s being overheard.”
The Emirates spokesperson defended their action and through business insider explained their reasoning for such an action.
“The passenger alerted the crew onboard that she was suffering from discomfort and pain and mentioned that she was feeling unwell.”
Way to go @emirates! Instead of making Beth Evans a cup of tea & perhaps a hot water bottle, you utterly shamed her for a natural bodily function-that happens to be painful.
Periods are painful and normal. Period.
Does anyone know Beth? I’d like to take her a ☕#periodpride 💪 pic.twitter.com/r1ZN70xeNO— Emma Barnett (@Emmabarnett) February 21, 2018
And the spokesperson clarifies more about the reasoning for the passengers being ejected from their plane
“The safety of our passengers and crew is of paramount importance and we would not have wanted to endanger Ms Evans by delaying medical help had she worsened during the seven hour flight to Dubai. We hope Ms Evans felt better soon and look forward to welcoming her onboard again soon.”
This clarification by the spokesperson infuriates the people and through twitter feeds, the displeasure is clear for the action taken by Emirates Airline.
Twitter users Emma Barnett said that emirates airline did not comfort Evans and further shaming her because of her condition.
