Maharashtra is home for the highest number of female criminals. In Maharastra alone in 2014 around 30,568 women were arrested for many cases. The state of Maharastra is not only the fast-growing city but also had a huge number of women criminals.

2. Pradesh:

UP occupied the second most place in the women criminals with 17,437 were arrested for involving in crimes. This state is infamous for its rowdy men, lack of law and order, and violent crimes, it’s no surprise that the women too resort to violent means.

3. Rajasthan:

This is the peaceful state in India, but there are 16,187 women arrested which is in the third position.

4. Gujarat:

Gujarat has suffered form violence, natural calamaties etc. in past but now with 14,152 female criminals it has entered the list with 4th Position.

5. West Bengal:

In west Bengal, about 12,181 women were arrested. Although here there are many men who involved in violence but now women also entered the list.

Mumbai Police, DCP Dhananjay Kulkarni said that “Very few women manage to give up the crime after release from prison; 99.9% of them turn into hardened criminals. Many form gangs specializing in pick-pocketing, theft and economic offences.”

Psychiatrist Dr Harish Shetty said that “Genders are coming closer and just as there are unisex clothes, crime too is gender-neutral.”
