Virginia: Two Journalists Were Killed During Live Telecast by Crazed Ex-Colleague

Two journalists named Alison Parker, 24 and cameraman Adam ward, 27 working for a local television station ‘WDBJ7’ in Moneta, Virginia of US state. They have been shot dead on Wednesday morning at 06:45 am shortly after the shots rang out during a live broadcast, by a disgruntled former employee who Known professionally as Bryce Williams after shoting them he shot himself and died in hospital.

The attack took place at a large shopping centre, Bridge water Plaza, near Smith Mountain Lake.

Ms Parker was starting a breakfast TV interview about tourism at the shopping centre when suddenly eight shots rang out, the camera spun and dropped to the ground, as well as screams, as Ward’s camera fell to the floor, capturing a fuzzy and chilling glimpse of the gunman, dressed in dark clothing. We do not know the motive or who the suspect or the killer is,” the station’s president and general manager, Jeffrey Marks, announced on air.

“I cannot tell you how much they were loved by the WDBJ7 team… our hearts are broken,” he said.

Later, a video posted under the Twitter account @bryce_williams7, showed the shooter brandishing a weapon at Parker, who was interviewing Ms Gardner and unaware of his presence.

His Twitter and Facebook accounts have now been suspended.

In Roanoke on Wednesday, there was an outpouring of grief for the two dead reporters, including from the local police department, which works closely with local journalists.
