Mumbaikars were left shocked on Monday after a video started circulating on WhatsApp and on the internet showing the murder of a girl by a man inside a mall, which was rumoured to be located in Andheri, a western suburb. BUT ACTUALLY THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED IN SRI LANKA NOT IN MUMBAI. THE INFORMATION IS WRONG.

The incident is said to have taken place at a mall in Colombo last week. Mumbai Police officials confirmed that the incident did not take place at any mall in Andheri and it had actually happened in Sri Lanka.

A few months before this girl working in a textile shop in the town of Wattala was stabbed by a knife and killed by a youth supposed to have been her lover. This youth who concealed a knife in his person began stabbing the girl over and over again when those who came there to buy the clothes and sales personnel of the shop were watching all the time.
