War of Words on Twitter: Anupam Kher Calls Shashi Tharoor a ‘Congi Chamcha’
Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and veteran actor Anupam Kher had a sharp verbal exchange on Twitter and it seems Tharoor won it hands down. It all started when Shashi took to Twitter to respond to Anupam’s recent remark where he said, “I am scared to be called a Hindu”.
Anupam Kher, during an interview with IBNLive, had expressed his fear of stating his religious identity. Posting a link of Kher’s recent TV interview, Tharoor tweeted on Saturday, saying that he is a ‘proud Hindu and not the Sangh’s kind of Hindu’ tagging Bollywood actor Kher.
Come on Anupam. I say it all the time. I’m a proud Hindu. Just not the Sangh’s kind of Hindu. @AnupamPkher https://t.co/jLgKlYwL96

This did not go down well with the 60-year-old actor, who in a reply to this tweet, said that he never thought Shashi Tharoor would misinterpret his statements. He also called Tharoor a ‘CongiChamcha’ (Congress stooge).
Come on Shashi. Never thought you will misinterpret my statement like trolls do. And behave like a Congi Chamcha. https://t.co/SOD44ZPYvM

In a quick response, Tharoor accused Kher of using abusive words when he ‘runs out of arguments’ and stated that Tharoor is proud of his Congress credentials.
. Abuse, @AnupamPkher , is what you use when you run out of arguments. I’m a proud MP of @INCIndia &I don’t resort to insults. #CongiChamcha

The war of words continued between the actor and the politician.
