The video below shows that a Government Railway Police (GRP) constable asking and taking money from the passengers. One of the passengers intellectually shot the video that made the police be suspended. The unidentified passenger posted the video on social media and the clip landed on one of the WhatsApp groups where officials of GRP and railway protection force officials are members.

Official sources said the constable in the video, has been identified as Amit Malik. Malik was seen demanding money from the passengers inside the moving train. The GRP officials lodged an FIR into the incident at Ghaziabad GRP police station and booked Malik for extortion and also under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act and the Police Act.

Senior GRP officials said when he was asked about the incident, Amit Malik accepted his involvement and said that he was allegedly demanding money from passengers to offer them seats on the train.

“The incident took place on March 29 near Ghaziabad inside Sapt Kranti Express while he was on duty. He has been suspended and action for termination will also be initiated against him. A detailed investigation is going on into the incident,” Vaibhav Krishna, superintendent of police GRP at Moradabad, said.
