We Got Telangana Because Of Ambedkar – CM KCR

Telangana Cheif Minister K Chandrashekar Rao laid the foundation stone for 125 feet tall statue of Ambedkar. On the occasion of his 125th birthday anniversary he started few welfare programmes for Dalits and other Communities.
Speaking in this event he said that they are going to put some steps forward in arranging 125 feet statue of B R Ambedkar and searching for good location in city. Finally they came out with place at NTR Gardens near Hussain Sagar Lake.

“Telangana is indebted to Ambedkar as it became a separate state because the architect of our Constitution kept the power to form new states with the Centre and not with the state itself,” he said.

KCR in this occasion announced about 250 educational institutions for SC, ST and minority communities. Here he included 100 social welfare residential schools, 25 degree colleges for Dalit girls, 5 residential degree colleges for Boys, 50 Girijan residential schools and 70 residential schools for minorities.

“He (Ambedkar) said in that note that there could be some weak regions within the states. A strong region could be troubling this weak one. The strong one would not let go the weak even if the latter wants to. If the weak is to pour out its grievance, there should be an opportunity for the weak to come to the Centre… We got Telangana because Ambedkar argued in the Constituent Assembly and made the Act that Centre should stand by the weak…,” Rao said.

He announced an amount of 10 lakhs to 20 lakhs to pursue higher education to Dalit and Girijan students in foriegn countries. He also said that these students will be given training if needed and take them as contarctors for varios civil projects done by Government.
