Woman Commits Suicide By Jumping In Front Of Delhi Metro Train [Video]

A 25-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping in front of an approaching Metro train at the Yamuna Bank station on Sunday evening. Police said the woman jumped in front of the train going towards Vaishali at around 5:58 PM. She was later identified as Anjali. Initial investigation revealed that the woman hailed from Allahabad.

 

A Central Industrial Security Force officer said, “CCTV footage showed the woman wandering aimlessly at the Metro station for more than 10 minutes before jumping in front of an arriving Metro train at platform number 3”.

As per reports, the girl’s wedding had been fixed in Delhi. Her family had come from Allahabad to meet the groom’s family, after the latter denied to go ahead with the wedding due to some issue regarding dowry.

The girl allegedly committed suicide due to the rejection. When the train stopped, the girl was found dead and her body was taken out from the under the train. A mobile phone, a metro card and a purse containing Rs 40 were found on her body.

The police did not recover any suicide note from the spot. Metro services on the route were disrupted for around 20 minutes after the incident.
