In Madhya Pradesh, the villagers of Khandva tore off the woman’s clothes and forced her to parade naked in the village and even made her drink water from a drain. According to the reports, the 35-year-old woman is an Adivasi belonging to Koruk community. She was accused of practicing black magic. Hence, on Friday evening other women of the village started bickering with her. She was dragged out of her home by the villagers at midnight. When her husband tried to intervene he was badly assaulted. He somehow escaped and reached the police station.

Also, the villagers made her drink water from a drain. The police arrived at the spot after an hour and took the woman to the primary health centre in Khandva where she was declared critical and later shifted to the district hospital. A case has been registered with the local police and investigation is on.

This incident took place on 7th November 2015 at Bakhar, a village in Madhya Pradesh. Even in the so-called civil society how people believe all these superstitious beliefs?
