Are you tired of those hideous blemishes and other filth on your bacteria-laden smartphone? In such a case, have you ever wished you could give your smartphone a bath? A Japanese firm has come out with a solution by developing a smartphone that can be washed with soap and water. Till now, we have come across sturdy and long-lasting smartphones with unique features such as water-resistance and shock-proofing. The Japanese firm has launched a new smartphone named Digno Rafre that has the capability to withstand even it is washed by a soap and warm water.

The smartphone was created by a telecom company KDDI along with Kyocera. Digno Rafre is regarded as the world’s first soap-proof phone that you can use soap to make sure the phone is as clean as it looks. Now, this smartphone is set as a new standard of durability. Waterproof phones are good for sanitation since you can eternally give them a light wash. A slight wipe will not get shed of the especially messy things on your phone. KDDI and Kyocera together created a new smartphone namely Digno Rafre that will be launched in Japan next week.

Specifications

The new soap-proof smartphone features a 5-inch TFT LCD display with HD display with a pixel resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The company has not yet revealed the details regarding the processor used for this smartphone. The handset packs 2GB RAM as well. On the Storage front, the smartphone includes an inbuilt storage of 16GB which can be further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot. The handset runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

Digno Rafre comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with CMOS sensore. In terms of Connectivity, the device supports 4G LTE connectivity, WiMAX plus VoLTE along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, and USB connectivity. The smartphone is backed by  a 3000mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver 20 hours of VoLTE talk time. The smartphone measures 71 x 141 x 10.1 mm and weighs 155 grams.

Features of Soap-Proof Phone

Digno Rafre is an amazing smartphone that can be cleaned using a soap with much ease. The handset has been specifically rated for hot water resistance at 43°-degrees Celsius, which is not included in the usual smartphone IP certification ratings. The smartphone has IP58 ratings and features a self-healing rear panel, which we have already seen in LG G Flex smartphones. Also, the smartphone comes with a rubber ducky dock, which floats in the bathtub.

The device is also shockproof (MIL-STD-810G). You can even operate the display of the smartphone with wet hands and has a “scratch-healing” finish along with bone-conducting technology that provides audio without a speaker. The smartphone is protected by Dragontrail X glass coating. The handset is available in three color variants such as Coral Pink, Cashmere White, and Marin Navy.

Price and Availability

The Digno Rafre will launch on December 11 in Japan priced at JPY 57,420 (approximately Rs. 32.300). This gadget is especially aimed at parents who wish to keep their smartphones hygiene for their small children. Not all soaps are suitable for cleaning these smartphones as there are only certain types of foamy soap that could be used on the device, which will only be sold in Japan for now.
