12 People Dead After Colombia Plane Crashes near Villavicencio

The Colombia Civil Defense said that 12 people were killed after a Colombia plane crashed near Villavicencio.

The Colombia Civil Defense said that the flight was traveling to San Jose Del Guaviare. According to the Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority, the crew of the plane called in the emergency by 10:40 AM. The crashed plane was found in La Bendición.

The pilot of the twin-engine propeller plane reported a couple of technical problems before it lost contact.

The Douglas DC-3 plane was first made in the early 1930s and could seat up to 30 people.

Officials are now trying to identify the passengers that were killed in the plane crash. The aviation authority of Columbia is yet to release the cause behind the plane crash.

But, the Colombia Civil Aviation Authority did release a statement that said condolences to the people who died in the plane crash.

Reports show that the plane crashed about 89 kilometers southeast of Villavicencio, near San Carlos de Guaroa.
