For the past 6 years, 12-year-old Xu Bingyang has been giving his best pal Zhang Ze a piggyback ride to their school and class every day.

12-year-old Xu has been carrying Ze since they were in grade one, Ze suffers from a muscular disease which prohibits him to walk by himself.

Xu carries Ze to school, helps him get their lunch, and between lessons.

Both kids live in Meishan City which is located in the Sichuan Province of China. The unique bond between the best-friends was shared by a local news outlet, since then, everyone started to call the duo’s story a heart-warming tale.

Basically, 12-year-old Xu does everything he can to help his best pal Ze and he even said that he does not really mind that he is called the “walking stick” of his best pal.

Xu said, “I weigh more than 40kg (88 pounds) and Zhang Ze only weighs about 25kg (55 pounds), so it’s okay for me to carry him.”

When Ze was asked about Xu, he said, “Xu Bingyang is my best friend. Every day, he studies with me, chats with me and plays with me. [I] thank him to look after me like this every day.”

Xu and Ze went to Hebazi Town Central Primary School, at the age of 4, Ze was diagnosed with a muscular disease which disallows him to have control over his leg muscles.

The condition of Ze is called “Myasthenia Gravis”, some doctors call it the Rag Doll Disease, a disease which does not allow a person to walk, and it is an extremely rare disease.

Luckily, Xu is kind enough to carry Ze which helps him to attend their school just like a normal child.

Carrying someone every day is not easy, but Xu says that he is happy to do it. He even says that it’s his duty to help Ze wherever he can.

Xu said, “I am bigger than him. I thought if I didn’t help him, nobody else would.”

The teacher of Xu said that he is very mature for someone who is 12-years-old and is really down to earth, the teacher added that Xu is a very hard-working kid.

The teacher said, “For so many years, [Xu] has continued doing good deeds and never complained in front of the teachers and classmates.”
