157 People Killed After Ethiopian Airlines Flight Bound For Nairobi Crashes

A Boeing 737 airplane of the Ethiopian Airlines crashed after taking off, the flight was bound for Nairobi. The incident happened on Sunday morning, the air crash killed 157 people that were aboard the plane, 149 were passengers and 8 were crew members.

Flight 302 took off Addis Ababa at approximately 8:38 AM, the officials lost contact with the plane 6 minutes after it took off.

This air crash is the 2nd fatal crash of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 since October, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 is a new jet that is also a top seller.  A couple of months ago, the Lion Air Flight 610 crashed in the Java Sea after it took off from Jakarta, all 189 people onboard the plane were killed in the plane crash.

The Ethiopian Airlines released a statement and said “Boeing is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the passengers and crew on Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, a 737 MAX 8 airplane. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the families and loved ones of the passengers and crew on board and stand ready to support the Ethiopian Airlines team.”

The aerospace giant that is based in Chicago said that they have a technical team that is ready to provide assistance in the investigation as per the request of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board.

The reason behind the fatal plane crash is still not clear. Flightrada24, the Flight-Tracking website said that the data showed an unstable vertical speed after Flight 302 took off.
