Ravi Kannauje, a 34-year-old man from Puraini Village in Chhuikhadan, Chhattisgarh, was arrested by the police for blackmailing a 22-year-old woman and raping her for more than one year.

Ravi is a distant of the 22-year-old woman.

Narendra Pujari, a police officer at the Ambagarh Chowki Police Station, said that the 22-year-old woman is a nursing student.

Ravi Kannauje is a married man, he secretly took a video of the 22-year-old woman while she was taking a bath when he visited their home.

Ravi then blackmailed the woman with the video that he took of her.

The woman claims that she was raped by the man on a couple of occasions in over a year.

Ravi also took obscene videos of her while he raped her.

The crime came into light when the 22-year-old nursing student did not let him rape her. Ravi then spread some of the videos that he took on a social media platform.

Ravi was arrested by the police after the nursing student filed a complaint against him on June 20, 2019.

Ravi Kannauje is currently facing charges under the Indian Penal Code.
