According to US Spot Survey, India Ranked As The Most Dangerous Country for Women

As per a new report by Us, India has ranked the most Dangerous country for women, worse than war-torn Afghanistan and Syria, due to the high risk of sexual violence and being forced into slave labour, a survey of global experts by the Thomson Reuters Foundation survey has revealed.

The only country to ranks in this report as a most dangerous country for Women in the United States. It ranked three based on the poll of a poll of 550 experts.

Previously the poll was in the year 2011, in which experts saw Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan, India and Somalia as the most dangerous nations for women.

This time, according to experts India climbed the ladder and became number one on the list, showing not much is done to keep women safe in India.

“India has shown utter disregard and disrespect for women … rape, marital rapes, sexual assault and harassment, female infanticide has gone unabated,” the report quoted Manjunath Gangadhara, a Karnataka government official, as saying. “The (world’s) fastest growing economy and leader in space and technology is shamed for violence committed against women.”

Talking about government data crime against women went up by 83% between 2007 and 2016, with four cases reported each hour.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development declined to comment on the survey results.

According to report, India also ranked the most dangerous country for women regarding human trafficking, including sex slavery and domestic servitude, and for customary practices such as forced marriage, stoning and female infanticide.

It is a shame, and we are world’s biggest democratic country. And in our culture, we have given the highest respect for women. She is a mother, sister, daughter and wife. And here we are, named world’s top country, for being the most dangerous country for Women.

It’s nothing but a shame for us. Recently we heard the news of rape with young children which are so shameful.

We hope that our ministry does something tangible for protection of women in our country. And we as a citizen teach our kids to be respectful towards women. We hope that things will get better in future.
