Bus driver Irena Ivic, addressed as a hero for rescuing an 8-month-old baby
A bus driver identified as Irena Ivic of Milwaukee County Transit Service (MCTS) rescued a young child that was wandering on a freeway overpass in freezing temperatures.
Newly-released video shows the driver, Irena Ivic, hitting the brakes and run after an 8-month-old girl who was seen wearing only a onesie and a diaper on a freeway overpass in Milwaukee.
Frightened and scared was the emotion of Irena as she carried the child to the bus, a fellow passenger was shocked, and also a passenger can be seen taking off her winter coat to help the child fight against the freezing temperatures.
The 8-month-old girl can be seen sleeping in the arms of Irena as the authorities arrived, she said: “I’m just grateful I was in the right place at the right time,”

Matt Sliker, County Transit System spokesman said: “Authorities eventually reunited the baby with its father.”
According to the police, the 8-month-old baby was left outside by her mother who may have been suffering from a mental health crisis.
According to the Milwaukee County Transit Service, this is the 9th time that a child has been rescued by a driver in the recent years.
Ivic added: “I absolutely love kids. I used to be a teacher and I have children of my own, so I’m so happy I was able to help this sweet, innocent baby.”
