A 55-year-old farmer who was declared as brain-dead donated his organs which gave life to 6 people, this happened on Friday.

55-year-old Shanmugam is from the district of Erode, he was involved in an accident that happened on February 18, 2019, and he was rushed to a government hospital that is located in Erode for first aid.

55-year-old Shanmugam was later brought to the KMCH (Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital) for better treatment and with the hopes that the doctors there could save him.

Unfortunately, 55-year-old Shanmugam did not respond to any treatment and was declared as brain-dead by the doctors in the KMCH Hospital this morning.

The family of 55-year-old Shanmugam decided to donate his organs. The officials from the hospital said that they harvested Skin, bone, kidneys, a liver, and his both eyes.

The liver and one kidney were used to save other people in the KMCH, and the eyes, skin, and bone were given to 3 private hospitals in the same city.
