Mansur Calar, a player from the Amed Sk managed to sneak a blade in the pitch, he used the razor blade to attack Ferhat Yazgan, a midfielder for Sakaryaspor. Reports say that Mansur used the blade against Ferhat twice.
The first attempt happened when the pre-match handshakes were being held, Mansur took a swipe at Ferhat there first, the second one was when both players were playing the game, Mansur reportedly slashed the blade at the neck of Yazgan, which left bloody marks on his neck.
26-year-old Ferhat Yazgan shared a photo that showed the slash marks on his neck on his Instagram Page.
The capture of the photo said: “These football players who put [sic] the field, TFF, I hope you’ll see them.”
Sakaryaspor released a statement about the incident, the team claims that a brawl happened in the tunnel before the match even started, the team also said that Calar attacked their team captain during the game was being played, Dilaver Guclu’nun was also attacked, they added.
After the video went viral on social media platforms, fans of the sport did not hesitate to show their disgust about the incident.
A Reddit user said, “That nutter should get a lifetime ban.”
One person said “I don’t think it’s a razor blade, maybe some sort of screw or nail, a razor blade would have left far cleaner cuts. Either way, that f****r deserves a lifetime ban”
The team denied claims that Mansur Calar brought a deadly weapon on the pitch while they were playing the match.
This is not the first time that this type of incident happened in the Turkish League, on October 2019, the dressing room of the Amed SK’s was attacked by a group of rival supporters.
Even though no player was injured in the attack, the Amed Sk did say that Sakaryaspor did not take any action of the said incident, they also released a video of the happening on their Twitter Account.
Nurullah Edemen, the Chairman of Amed SK condemned the behavior of Sakaryaspor and their fans, he said that the usually show an ‘ugly, disgusting and immoral nationalistic attitude’.
