Former bootlegger shot by man for refusing to sell liquor to him and his friends in New Delhi
A 40-year-old woman, who was once a bootlegger, was shot by a 24-year-old man after the woman refused to sell liquor to him and his two friends.
Officials said that the incident happened in Jahangirpuri, New Delhi.
The 40-year-old woman was rushed to the Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, doctors said that her condition is now stable.
The police arrested 24-year-old Vikas Mishra, 23-year-old Pankaj, and 22-year-old Mintoo. Vikas shot the 40-year-old woman while being intoxicated with liquor.
Mishra shot the woman on June 7 when he and his friends went to the home of the former bootlegger and asked her for beer.
The former bootlegger told them that she does not have any, but the 3 men did not believe her which led to a quarrel.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhisham Singh, said that the 24-year-old man, who was drunk when the quarrel broke out, shot the former bootlegger.
A case has been registered against the 3 men, the police recovered 3 live cartridges and a pistol from Vikas Mishra.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Mishra opened fired at a man 15 days ago, he is also labeled as a “notorious criminal” of the Jahangirpuri area.
