Patrick Killonzo Mwalua uses a special water truck that allows him to bring 3000 gallons of water per trip. Usually, he brings 3000 gallons of fresh water 4 times per week to make sure that the animals have enough water to drink. But recently, Patrick Killonzo Mwalua and his friend Nina Poletti are bringing more water than they used to before, sometimes they even have to deliver water daily to keep the animals hydrated.
Patrick Killonzo Mwalua hit the headlines for the first time in 2017 since then he has started his own foundation that is dedicated to helping animals.
Back in 2017, Patrick Killonzo Mwalua said that “There is completely no water, so the animals are depending on humans. If we don’t help them, they will die.”
Patrick Killonzo Mwalua said that he got the idea of delivering fresh water to the park after he visited it and saw how dry it was, he saw the water holes completely dry and animals looking for water to drink.
Patrick Killonzo Mwalua said “We aren’t really receiving rain the way we used to. From last year, from June, there was no rain completely. So, I started giving animals water because I thought, ‘If I don’t do that, they will die.'”
During his free time, Patrick Killonzo Mwalua also goes to the local schools and teaches the young students about how they can help the wildlife in their country.
Patrick Killonzo Mwalua added that “I was born around here and grew up with wildlife and got a lot of passion about wildlife. I decided to bring awareness to this so when they grow up they can protect their wildlife.”
Patrick Killonzo Mwalua shared one occasion where 500 buffalos were waiting for him at the watering hole where he usually releases the water, he added that the buffalos were desperate to drink something.
Patrick Killonzo Mwalua is known around social media platforms as he is continuously doing great things for the wildlife of his country, he is also hailed as a hero.
