Maharashtra: 24-Year-Old Farmer Commits Suicide Over Crop Failure
Police Report: On Saturday, a 24-year-old farmer committed suicide in the district of Yavatmal, Maharashtra.
The family members of 24-year-old Shreejit Vilasrao Hathe said that he was under stress over his crop failure.
Officials said that 24-year-old Shreejit committed suicide by hanging himself on a pole that was placed in front of his house at Wadgaon Village on Saturday.
A probe has been launched by the police to find out the exact reason behind the incident.
Another relative of the farmer said that Shreejit owned 4 acres of land but his crops were failing each year which was keeping him under constant stress.
Chairman Kishore Tiwari of the Vasantrao Naik Shetkari Swavalamban said that the father of 24-year-old Shreejit Vilasrao Hathe also commited suicide last year.
