Pit Bull Saves Family by Alerting Cops to Gas Leak

An 11-year-old Pit Bull who has a nose for peril is being called a hero for saving the lives of her Family after it broke out its house and alerted the cops about a gas leak in Tuckahoe, New York. The news was posted on Facebook and won the hearts of thousands of people from around the world.

In a Facebook post that was posted by the Police Department of Tuckahoe, they were informed about a dog that was on loose as it was continuously barking on Fairview Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

After the officers returned Sadie to her home, they noticed that the door in the backyard was wide open, after walking the perimeter of the said home, the police officers smelled the gas leak that was coming out from the window of the basement.

The police then contacted the Eastchester Fire Department and Con Edison to help resolve the leak that was coming out from the basement of the house.

Lieutenant Lawrence Rotta said: “The dog saved the house from a potential gas explosion and gas leak.”

The Police Department of Tuckahoe said “Sadie – Great work sniffing out danger and getting help! If we are ever in need of a K9, we will put you at the top of our list!” in their post on Facebook.

After the post was posted on Facebook, it got a lot of love and got thousands of likes and comments.

One comment said: “What a smart dog you have! A true hero! Tuckahoe should honor her for her amazing good work!” wrote one person in the comments section. “Good girl. She was smart to do what she did.”

Serena Costello the owner of Sadie said “She is a hero, and She saved our lives” after Sadie chewed and dug the wooden blocker to run out and call for help.
