Princess A 400lb Pet Pig Gets Slaughtered By Man Who Promised To Watch Her

A family in California was devastated after their 400lb pet pig Princess gets slaughtered by their neighbor after it went missing.

On March 23, Princess, the 400lb pig, wandered away from her pen at owner Carrie Hogan’s mother’s home in Arcata, California.

Princess got out and was spotted in their neighbor’s yard.

A police officer at the Arcata Police Department struck up a deal with the person to keep an eye on 400lb Princess while they tried to find the owner of Princess.

400lb Princess did not have any identifying tag.

Instead of taking care of the pet, the man decided to slaughter Princess and make her into his dinner.

When the police officer returned to the residence of the man, Princess was already dead and was cut up for meat.

Chief Brain Ahearn of the Arcata Police Department said that he reached a “Reasonable Arrangement” with the person who he left Princess with.

Chief Brian said, ‘We were totally shocked and surprised to learn that the pig had been slaughtered. There was no reason to believe that that individual was going to do that.’

Lt. Todd Dockweiler of the Arcata Police Department said that they often receive “loose livestock calls” in the area and they usually ask the residents to keep watch of the animal while the owner or owners of the animal are located.

Lt. Todd said, ‘Believe it or not, that’s not a super uncommon call for us. Obviously, that was a bit of a shock to everyone involved. Given the stage of the butchering process, he was in, he must have slaughtered the pig very shortly after the officer left. It’s just a really bizarre case. ‘

He added, ‘It’s just not clear what the thought process was. He obviously knew the pig didn’t belong to him and he didn’t have the right to slaughter it.’

Hogan, the owner of Princess, said that she was really upset that the police officer allowed a stranger to watch over their pet.

She said, ‘He took it upon himself to give my animal away, and then it got butchered.’

Hogan said that their pet was a “very sweet” pig, she added that Princess was never aggressive and even liked to be around humans.

Hogan said that she raised Princess since she was just a piglet, she added that she even fed Princess with a bottle in her own living room.

Hogan said that Princess was a part of their family.

The death of Princess devastated residents in the area after they got to know that Princess had disappeared, Hogan shared pictures of Princess on a community group on Facebook.

Hogan is trying to bring back the meat of Princess, she said that she does not have any plans to eat her pet pig, but said that she would not anyone else eat it.

Hogan said, ‘I think that the hardest part of this is knowing that there’s somebody out there that’s this kind of savage.’

The Arcata Police Department said that the man who slaughtered Princess committed “Theft of Livestock”.
