Tamil Nadu: Bus Driver Killed In Mysterious Explosion At Engineering College
Bus driver was killed and three others were injured when a mysterious heavy object had fallen from the sky close to the building complex of a private engineering college near Vellore district in Tamil Nadu, causing an explosion.
Local sources told that Kamaraj, a contract driver with Bharathidasan Engineering College in K Bandarapalli in Natrampalli in Vellore had gone to wash his face when the explosion happened at around 11.30 am today. Three gardeners suffered injuries and were admitted to a local hospital.
In the impact of the blast, Kamaraj’s body was thrown about 10 feet away. He was taken to the Vaniyambadi GH where he was declared brought dead. All the students who were there in their classes at the time of the incident were safe.
Incidentally, the college had received bomb threats last year leading to inspections which, however, turned out to be hoax. Natrampalli police are investigating the cause of the blast. Police are yet to confirm what caused the blast.
