BBMP Council Elections Result 2015 LIVE: List of Ward-Wise Winning Candidates

The results of the BBMP council elections held on August 22, 2015 (Saturday) will be announced today (25th August, 2015) deciding the fate of 1,120 candidates.  Although 7.4 million (73, 88, 526) voters had registered to exercise their franchise, only 49% of them had turned out. Today, the electronic voting machines were unlocked at 8 am. The counting of votes in all the 197 wards is likely to be completed by 1 pm today. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), emerging victorious in over 90 wards of the civic body. The BBMP is working to provide real time information at the Palike headquarters.

If the BJP wins in more than 100 wards, it will be eligible to elect the mayor and deputy mayor from the party. As of now, BJP has won in 93 wards while the Congress has grabbed 74 council seats. JD-S has won 13 and independent candidates have taken eight wards even as counting is underway in Bengaluru. The election was not held in the Hongasandra ward (number 189) as a BJP candidate was declared elected unanimously on 13 August after the poll panel rejected the nomination of Congress candidate K Maheshwari for submitting a false caste certificate.

According to sources, 15 tables have been arranged for counting of votes at each counting centre and 3180 staffs have been assigned to assist in the counting of votes. The results are immediately fed into the Palike’s official website bbmp.gov.in, which will be accessible only to the officials. The same information will be flashed on a display board at the BBMP head office.
