Formr leader and Union Minister of Bhartiya Janta Party Late. Gopinath Munde’s daughter surprise’s the nation with a huge majority. Youngest daughter of Late leader Gopinath Munde, Pritam Munde contested elections from the Beed Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra on Sunday which was left vacant after the death of her father. Pritam Munde was able to get 7 lakh votes which is the highest vote bank ever in India’s electoral history and her victory was inevitable.
Pritam Munde’s Victory
It was to all that former Union Minister and Pritam Munde’s father Shri Gopinath Munde died in a car accident and since then Beed Lok Sabha seat was vacant. The official reports of Election Commission of India states that Pritam Munde bagged a total of 9,16,923 votes while her nearest rival Shri Ashokrao Shankarrao Patil of the Congress, secured 2,24,678 votes. Addes to this Election Commission of India proclaimed that Pritam Munde’s margin of 6, 92,245 is more than honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s 5.7 lakh vote margin from the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat in May and it is a new record and epic feat ever in the Indian electoral history.
Pritam Munde rewrites the history and is given a clear mandate. If we glare back at the history the highest victory margin ever till October 18, 2014 was of Left leader Anil Basu’s margin of 5,92,502 votes from Arambagh followed by Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s vote share of 5.7 lakhs making him the third person in the highest vote share. Modi is followed by Ram Vilas Paswan’s 1989 margin of 5,04,448 votes.
Woman Empowerment In Politics
This victory can be termed as the empowerment of the woman in politics and Pritam Munde’s efforts in retaining their father’s political legacy in the by poll elections which were held on Sunday. On the other hand Pankaja Munde who is the late leader and Union Minister Shri Gopinath Munde’s eldest daughter and sitting BJP MLA defeated her estranged cousin Dhananjay Munde who contested as a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) nominee from Parli Assembly seat by 25,895 votes and she managed to get 96,904 votes against Dhananjay’s 71,009 votes.
After the death of Gopinath Munde who was also called as the leader of the masses the Parli and Beed sectors were seems to be deserted of power and a strong leader who can represent them at both the levels of governance and as he passed away a few months back there was a sympathetically atmosphere for the Munde sisters as said by the political critics. After the demise of Munde who hailed from Vanjari community and was regarded as the tallest OBC leader of the state, Pankaja has emerged as the new OBC face of BJP in Maharashtra. Followed by this Star Campaigner of BJP Shri Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah campaigned for the Munde sisters which too had turned advantageous point for the leaders.
During the election campaign prime minster Narendra Modi stated that there was no need of him to campaign and arrive to Beed if your leader of masses late shri Gopinath Munde would have been alive. As tributre and paying homage to the late leader Gopinath Munde, Shiv Sena chose not to put up a candidate against Munde sisters and NCP too didn’t announced candidate against Pritam Munde in the by polls for the Lok Sabha seat although NCP won all seats in Beed District except Parli in 2009 elections.
